Cannot start kde applications as root

Hi,

I'm haviong troube starting kde applications as root. I get the following message when running them after typing su :

when I launch them using sudo, I get :

kwrite: cannot connect to X server 

I need to run application as root because I need to run Kvpnc.

Try with kdesu, i. e.:

$ kdesu kwrite

Also, you could try something like this, but I'm not sure it's a good thing from security aspect:

$ xhost +localhost
$ su
# kwrite

Personally, I find kdesu "solution" better.
