Your build log stops before it gets to the error.

Try setting USE=-gnome or reinstalling the package that provides gnome.h. If you do not have a package installed which is supposed to provide this header, then the dependencies for uim may be incomplete.

I masked this version, and portage pulled in a newer version.

@VoidMage The reason why pastebin is not a good idea either, is that if months later you lookup this thread to see what the problem was, if it is what you're running into, and how it was solved, that then pastebin by then already has deleted whatever you put on it. >-|
