What's the correct way to custom patch wine?

I'm trying to patch wine to sort-of support hardware cursors in world of warcraft. Following the instructions here (for Ubuntu), I can't work out how to properly modify the wine ebuild so that portage builds wine with the patch included.

Any help much appreciated.

i add a epatch line in the ebuild
epatch "${FILESDIR}"/csshack.patch
place the patch in u local wine/files dir

yeah, here is an example I did to the canon software functioning... It will give you a blow-by-blow.
