I'm getting problems with any mozilla-based browser I use (firebird, epiphany, galeon.) After several minutes of browsing, the browser becomes VERY slow, hanging for up to one minute before desplaying the intended page. Anyone else seeing this?
Check your /var/log/kern.log, /var/log/messages, /var/log/syslog, etc. It looks very much like you encountered a memory leak and kernel kills your browser for taking all of your memory. It happened to me, kernel reports of killing the process so should know from the logs.
Light travels faster than sound. That's why some people appear bright before you hear them speak.
Heh, at least it doesn't just close on you. Well, epiphany crashes with an error window, but mozill and firebird just close off. There are a couple of websites I know just kill it. I am certain this is a shared library problem in gentoo and I'm going to remove gentoo and install slackware to fix it, as it's been this way for going close to a month and it makes the system unusable.
Hi,
Yes I tried from the command line, nothing at all. The browser windows just close (except Epiphany which pops the gnome crash box).
I have not run revdev-rebuild. I'll give it a go.
