Segmentation fault libQtCore.so.4.6.0

I have just upgraded my laptop to KDE 4.3.4. I rebooted afterwards, and when I run KDM, I get a segmentation fault error regarding "Plasma-Desktop". If I run dmesg, it says that the segfault error is located in "libQtCore.so.4.6.0".

I reemerged kdebase-startkde, kdm, plasma-workspace, plasma-runtime and qt-core, unfortunately to no effect. I would like to know if there is a different way to fix this.

This is a problem that many have encountered. See this topic.

In short: downgrade hal to something less than 0.5.14 and it should work again.

Same here, but my version of hal is less than 0.5.14 (0.5.13_r2). 0.5.14 is masked.

Now i rollback to last stable

FWIW, I'm running kde-4.3.4 but qt-4.5.3* on one of my systems and have seen no problems. It is, however, a lightly used system.
