His is that a program that can be used with KDE to autoconnect to the net once the computer starts up? For mandrake and SUSE 8.2 Pro there was KPPPOE but when I tried emerging it, it wasn't there. Thanks.

Code: Select all

rc-update add net.eth0 default
(assuming that the IFACE you need to autostart is net.eth0, and that you modified the script to make it work ok
or do you have to have a kde thing?

that's my problem, too. i want my machine to be online on boot. i did
#rc-update add net.eth0 default
#rc
but it didn't change the problem.
it may has somesomething to do with booterror when trying to start dhcpcd (there's no ok but two red!!). i have checked my /etc/conf.d/net, too, semms to be alright...
to me it looks as if the problems is that the command "adsl-start" isn't properly given on boottime. i would be thankfull for suggestions whichs files need to be checked. thx
Californication!
