Odd problem with Dell laptop. keyboard? wireless? X?

Ok, I am runnning a Dell inspiton 5100.

I couldnt find anyone else having the same problem, but if I missed it, forgive me.

occasionally, and pretty randomly, my keyboard stops accepting input. i am unable to type on anything, (terminal mozilla, gaim, etc. etc.) It seems to happen more frequently, when I am running wireless, but it happens nonetheless when I am not.

When this happens, I usually can reboot the machine through the menus, while using the mouse, but when I hit reboot and it exits X, I get a few errors about wireless (havent figured out how to record them, because they only appear on shutting down) on a grey screen that only clears where the text appears. this happens pretty randomly, and I have tried all kinds of kernel stuff, but have had no luck. I wish I could explain it better. I don't get any errors during boot or in dmesg, so I cant post anything from there. but the few errors I can read when it is shutting down talk about lines in wireless.opts but the lines it says, are commented out so I am unsure.

sorry this is so vague, but I am not sure what is going on. if you had/have a similar issue, let me know, or if you have any specific questions for me to get the answers, let me know. thanks.

i don't see in any errors in that. When the keyboard stops working, and i hit reboot, the errors I can see are all about wireless. Im not really sure how to view the errors as it is rebooting, when I am logged in.
