Downloading a rtmp://.... video

Post by jomateix » Wed Jul 09, 2008 3:31 pm

I've been given an url to download a video that is like rtmp://......./a_file.flv
Usually I can download all videos using mplayer to dump the stream if they can't be downloaded directly with wget, but in this case it doesn't seem to work.
Anyone knows how to download such a file?

I have no experience with that, but I'd try flash player for it.

bump!
is there already a command line utility that can download from rtmp links?
i read here that the people from the gnash project added support to libcurl.
anyone tinkered with that?

How did you get Orbit to work? Doesn't work here.

only the downloading part works. you have to manually copy/paste the URLs. i was capturing some streams by using wireshark and pasting the urls in manually into orbit. the automatic detection "Grab Pro?" (I think they call it) does not work.

there is a seperate development branch of gnash that deals with rtmp.
i checked it out and tried to compile it. after adjusting some makefiles and stuff i got quite nasty errors.
this seems to me unusable at the moment.
