What would you use an aterm for in windows? A DOS prompt?? And you don't like the original because it's not transparent?! Please explain :)

I guess you can get PuTTY for your ssh and sftp needs and then use a third party app to make it transparent. I don't see a reason to use a dos emulator on xp.

I have a program called Console2.2 but it was sent to me by a friend to try it out.. really can't tell you where to find it... but I do know that my friend found a couple of tools to do this, so you should be able to google something.
Or you could look in some windows desktop-art forum.. I hear the popularity of windows has somewhat grown over the last couple years and quite a few people use it, so I assume such places exist on the net, though I really wouldnt know where

Why do some people run aterm, some Eterm, some gnome terminal etc etc.. all are a little different and people like diff features of each. There is a lot you can do with the command line in xp.. but you really can't configure it at all.. so I just wanted to see if there were others that might be better..

thx for the tip on console2.2 naseweis...

For fluxbox, there are blackbox shells for windows. Check out http://www.shellscape.org/ for a list of different shells (litestep and openvision both look pretty cool) and http://blueboxshell.org/

For aterm, you can either use cmd or run cygwin for a bash prompt and then combine it with glass2k.
