VMware Issue

Hello,

Just got vmware running and having a small problem. Program loads fine, put my serial number in there no problems, went to create a new VM and the program just hangs for a second then closes with no error. I ran this through a terminal to see if there was something it wasn't telling me but all that happens is the program closes. I made sure I was in the vmware group and even ran vmware as root to see if it might be some other kind of issue with my user account. Any suggestions are appreciated.

- Workstation?
- Server 1.x?
- Server 2.x?

checked /var/log/messages, /var/log/syslog, /var/log/kern.log

Is the programm able to write files where the vm needs to be created?
