Anonymous PureFTPd + Firefox Issues

  • Quote

Post by Sakkath » Thu Feb 05, 2009 6:06 pm

Anonymous FTP works fine passive/active with a cli ftp program locally. But when I try to access it w/Firefox, I don't see any files. I don't see any error either.

FileZilla says "Failed to retrieve directory listing" in passive mode, but active mode works fine!

For my regular user, passive mode works perfectly fine as well! Passive even works for my virtual (MySQL) users.

The following makes me know PureFTPd can read what is in the directory properly:

Code: Select all

Command:	LIST
Response:	150 Accepted data connection
Response:	226-ASCII
Response:	226-Options: -l
Response:	226 31 matches total
Any help is appreciated in advance!

If you are going to use passive ftp over the internet you need to do NAT on your router for the passive ftp ports.

The server is in DMZ w/iptables protecting me. I don't have any iptables rules right now because I just reinstalled my system. Why would it work for a virtual or regular user but not anonymous?
