[SOLVED]portage-2.2_rc22, OMG, what have I done?

I've been using the portage-2.2 version for a few months now, because I really like the sets feature when testing out KDE 4 and compize, etc...but I have done something that it doesn't like at all, and I haven't been able to figure it out. I just pull the sets tarball and installed it in the sets directory for kde-4.2. Now, when I try to emerge anything, I get this stuff:

Error during set creation: Redefinition of set 'kdetoys-4.2' (sections: 'usersets', 'kde sets')
Error during set creation: Redefinition of set 'kdetoys-4.1' (sections: 'usersets', 'kde sets')

It doesn't stop the emerge, but it looks like portage is very unhappy about something to do with sets, and I have no idea what this really means. Anybody have any ideas?

[UPDATE]Removing the KDE sets that I grabbed from the kde-testing overlay made the messages go away...so it looks like the issue was just with those sets. The question remains though, does anybody know what those messages mean?[/UPDATE]

Ok, I get it now...the sets are already provided in the layman tree...so I was duplicating them by putting them into /etc/portage/sets....oh, the travails of the bleeding edge!

These are mostly harmless (QA type messages)

In the offchance that a portage developer looks in this thread, is there a way to ignore sets provided by a certain overlay without removing the files physically? Something like set.mask (akin to package.mask)?

Yes, that had been my (incorrect) assumption initially...that sets in /etc/portage/sets would magically override what is in the layman directories...no magic I'm afraid.

No. And I can't think of a reason why you would want that. If you don't like a set provided by a certain overlay, then don't use it. You can easily make your own sets, just make sure they have a unique name.
