Can't emerge svgalib

Problems with emerge or ebuilds? Have a basic programming question about C, PHP, Perl, BASH or something else?

I am getting the following error when trying to emerge svgalib (as a dependency for amarok, kaffeine, etc)

Code: Select all

Any hints? What does "kernel not configured" mean?

Make sure the symlink /usr/src/linux points to the sources that were used to compile the kernel you are currently running. This directory should include a file named ".config" that contains your configuration.

Your link may likely point to a newer version if there was an upgrade since you last built a kernel. Portage likes manipulating the symlink. You can check which kernel you are running by issuing uname -a.

/edit: also note that there is a known bug in svgalib concerning kernel-2.6.26: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=235401
