[SOLVED]convert from mac format

[SOLVED]convert from mac format

I have a text file that has weird characters on nano. On kate it shows with lots of spaces. In OpenOffice it's unreadable.

On nano it says, converted from mac format. Here is how the text looks like in various applications.

What can I do to get a normal text file and without spaces?

what does "file <file>" return?

file name.srt
name.srt: MPEG ADTS, layer I, v1, 96 kBits, 44.1 kHz, Stereo

srt is a text file. Subtitles of a movie.

PS. I managed to solve the problem. In OpenOffice I used the find and replace. I replaced the "#" with empty space and got a normal text.
