Help with creation, editing, or playback of sounds, images, or video. Amarok, audacious, mplayer, grip, cdparanoia and anything else that makes a sound or plays a video.
Or any other way how to use video acceleration? My PC is to slow for 1280x720 videos, but with HW acceleration it shouldn't be a problem (1.6Ghz Sempron + Nvidia 8600GT).
Do you have mmx, sse and sse2 USE flags activated? If yes, your system should be fast enough to play 720p movies using mplayer and -vo xv. VIDIX is AFAIK x86 only and it doesn't work on your card anyway, because it requires a hardware overlay engine which your graphic card doesn't have.
