Hey. I was just wondering if anybody knows if there are any keys that can lower / highten the sound.

I want to only press the button on my keyboard and control the sound?

Any tips are appreciated.

Have a look at lineak, it might do what you want.

Thank you guys, that really helped me.

I got I more question. I put:

Code: Select all

Shift F3 :ExecCommand audacious --rew
Shift F4 :ExecCommand audacious --fwd
in my keys file, but the problem is that command opens a new audacious. I wouldn't want that. Any tips how to only rew or fwd on the current running audaciouos?

eix Audio-Tools :D
* dev-perl/Audio-DSP
Available versions: ~0.02
Homepage: http://search.cpan.org/~sethj/
Description: Perl interface to *NIX digital audio device

* dev-perl/Audio-FLAC-Header
Available versions: *1.4 ~1.7
Homepage: http://search.cpan.org/search?query=Audio-FLAC-Header
Description: Access to FLAC audio metadata

* dev-perl/Audio-Mixer
Available versions: 0.7
Homepage: http://search.cpan.org/~sergey/
Description: Perl extension for Sound Mixer control

* dev-perl/Audio-Tools
Available versions: 0.01
Homepage: http://search.cpan.org/~npeskett
Description: Tools required by some Audio modules

I suppose he means Audio-Tools.
Otherwise, you might try audto+TABKEY to check if the command is there in your system
which audtool
or
find / -name "*udtoo*"

edit:
emerge -av Audio-Tools

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild N ] dev-perl/Audio-Tools-0.01 6 kB

Total: 1 package (1 new), Size of downloads: 6 kB

Would you like to merge these packages? [Yes/No] yes
This command doesn t work...
Audtool
audTABKEY or whatever...
Sorry, I was wrong...
no clue

Headless Operation
Audacious supports a headless operation mode, where Audacious does not use X11 and instead operates as a daemon. You should note that you cannot switch between daemonized mode and X11 mode, and that if you wish to switch back and forth, that you need to do so when starting the program.

When using Audacious in headless mode, you will need a client. Clients compatible with Audacious are listed on the Audacious website.
This is what you need, isn t it????

can t really change these keys unless you change the ebuild, but, fair enough, it s similar to a lot of other players!
