amarok - ipod - cover art issue

  • Quote

Post by mesman00 » Mon Jan 15, 2007 8:11 pm

Yesterday i deleted all the songs on my ipod and then readded them all in amarok so i could also put the album cover art on my ipod as well. Now it seems that my ipod runs slow and even locks up when i try to select a song to play. For example, if i select a song, it goes to the screen that displays the song name, album cover, etc. However, where the album cover is just stays white, and it takes a few seconds for the song to start playing. The song will play and eventually the album cover will show up after the songs has begun playing, but the progress bar doesn't move. Then eventually the progress bar moves to the current song location (usually about 15 seconds in). Has anyone else experienced this? BTW i'm using a 5G ipod, 80 GB.

http://amarok.kde.org/wiki/Media_Device ... ot_working is probably a good place to start, and then post on the amarok forums as well?

I wonder if the covers were transferred at full size and it's taking time for the iPod to scale them? Complete speculation 8O

Sorry to bump this old thread, but I've just bought a new ipod nano 3rd gen and I can't get amarok to set the album covers.
It works just fine with gtkpod, but I've already configured all my albums with the correct covers in amarok for easy transfering to the ipod...
If I would have to do it with gtkpod I need to manually set every album cover first.

How do I get amarok to transfer and set (and eventually scale) the cover art to my ipod?

[EDIT]
I just found out that this works perfect in amarok as long as you have a recent version of libgpod and the cover set it in amaroks cover manager.
I don't know why it didn't work the last time, but as of now my ipod have album covers for every album!

Oak, you can try the 'iPod' -> 'Update Artwork' under 'Device' tab if your iPod doesnt show the coverart set in Amarok. Anyway it's supposed to be updated automatically with Amarok as you've upgraded the libgpod to the latest version.

punkid: Thanks for the reply. As i wrote earlier, it works perfect now. The only thing bothering me now is that I can't find album covers for some of my albums. :)
