[SOLVED] xalan-c and thus Virtual Box fail to emerge

[System_Failure]

I have to do an assignment before 12 EST today, but I haven't been able to for the past few days because my Virtual Box installation got foobared some how. I tried revdep-build and it failed on xalan-c (which seems to be the lib that broke, thus breaking Vbox). so here is what I get:

I have search here several times, but maybe I used the wrong terms, and I'm starting to get desperate.

I'm on gentoo(duh) 64bit system, all the important emul's installed(emul-linux-x86-blah), 2.6.23-gentoo-r4(will be 2.6.23-gentoo-r5 when I reboot, but I don't think that would cause this, if i reboot and it changes i'll double post so you know it's solved), nvidia GC though that most likely has nothing to do with this either.

ok the restart didn't fix it, but I had the bright idea to check bug.gentoo.org and guess what I found(sorry, I'm going on a huge lack of sleep): http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=202922

long story short, it was my version of xerces-c (2.8.0 isn't supported by xalan-c yet) so I just reverted to 2.7.0-r1 and it got past that point(still compiling at them moment but it should work now)
