emerging compiz-fusion and tons of blocked packages

Hi,

I'm following this guide (http://wiki.gentoo-xeffects.org) to install compiz-fusion. But "emerge compiz-fusion" gives me a lot of blocked packages. So now I don't know what to do, googlde gives no answer...Shall I just manually unmerge these packages????

I'm no expert on this, but I'll give it a shot. One thing is that the '-r4' kde packages are not in portage, so they must be coming from the xeffects overlay. Do you have these unmasked in your package.keywords file by chance? I used the compiz-fusion from portage, so I didn't have these issues.

Ok, I see now. You have the kde meta-package installed and compiz-fusion wants the static ebuilds. Here's a thread about this. There are several others if you search kdebase with meta keywords:
