opera-9.50_beta1 wants to emerge qt

Problems with emerge or ebuilds? Have a basic programming question about C, PHP, Perl, BASH or something else?

opera-9.50_beta1 wants to emerge qt

Hi,

I use Gentoo ~amd64 profile with gnome. I have installed web browser opera 9.24 with USE="gnome qt-static -elibc_FreeBSD -spell". A few days ago opera-9.50_beta1 is in portage but when I want to update it requires installing media-libs/libmng-1.0.9-r1 and x11-libs/qt-3.3.8-r4.

Code: Select all

[ebuild N ] media-libs/libmng-1.0.9-r1 USE="lcms" 542 kB
[ebuild N ] x11-libs/qt-3.3.8-r4 USE="cups gif opengl -debug -doc -examples (-firebird) -immqt -immqt-bc -ipv6 -mysql -nas -nis -odbc -postgres -sqlite -xinerama" 16,986 kB
[ebuild U ] www-client/opera-9.50_beta1 [9.24] USE="gnome qt-static (-spell)" 5,896 kB

Total: 3 packages (1 upgrade, 2 new), Size of downloads: 23,423 kB
The ebuild is OK, I think:

Code: Select all

!qt-static? ( =x11-libs/qt-3* )
So, the question is: why portage wants to install qt ?

Put qt in package.mask and package.provided to avoid the problem for now :>

I don't use amd64, so I'm not 100% sure, but it seems qt-static isn't available for the beta builds
on all platforms (RDEPEND="amd64? ( =x11-libs/qt-3* )") .

Different platform, but similar problem:
