K3B burning error

  • Quote

Post by Major » Wed Nov 07, 2007 2:39 am

After about 1:10 minutes k3b gives me this:
:-(unable to WRITE@LBA=oh: Input/Output error
:-(write failed : input/output error
mkisofs did not exit cleanly
Error while creating ISO image
Fatal error during recording: input/output error
I was able to burn about 10 or 12 DVDs en then kaboom I keep getting this.
Looks like I'm missing space somewhere or a buffer not working ....
I re-emerge k3b ... reboot... waited a few days ...

And still nothing

I check the Web for other kind of error but nothing make sense to me yet....

This happened to me a few month before but It fixed itself but now I'm just pissed

And I can't find any other burning program with an good GUI interface

Can you post your emerge --info ?

Also, are you in the cdrom with your user ?

You got enough room on your disk? Looks like it's not the burning that fails, it's mkisofs.

Yeap
# df
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda3 15G 8.6G 5.6G 61% /
udev 442M 644K 442M 1% /dev
/dev/sdb2 27G 2.8G 24G 11% /home
/dev/sdb1 158G 90G 60G 61% /mnt/stuff
none 442M 0 442M 0% /dev/shm
That is why I'm thinking of buffer or something ... but Im not sure how mkisofs works

Try making the isoimage yourself, by using the commandline tool mkisofs. And throw on some verbose options to see what fails. k3b's error messages obviously suck as bad as Windows'.
