MOD EDIT: quick/"past 24 hours" search Error

  • Quote

Post by Deathwing00 » Sat Jul 05, 2003 7:22 pm

When I enter in Quick Search: portage

I get

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 39 bytes) in /nfs/disk/data/www/virtual/forums.gentoo.org/search.php on line 349

I've modified the title of this post so it's more applicable and noticeable, as you can't search for "24" on this forum, Puggy

The problem is periodic it seems. I have seen it several times 2 day. this time when trying to view posts in the last 24 hours:

Code: Select all

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 262144 bytes) in /nfs/disk/data/www/virtual/forums.gentoo.org/search.php on line 240

I agree, but I must admit that I thought those responsible would actually _read_ the feedback group. - Why else have it?

That's a mistery! But not the place to talk about misteries. Perhaps a PM could do the trick...

The applicable ceiling has supposedly been raised. And yes, we do read this forum.

I get the same error message as well sometimes, but searching for kernel and then gentoo did not give it so perhaps it is solved.

Because the disk adapter needed to resurrect that machine that died is not scheduled to arrive where it needs to be until next week.

Bump.

Hmm normally I wouldn't bother, but according to the error message it's about a measly 35 bytes.

What is the problem about really?

I admit I know only very little about SQL, but
SELECT * FROM posts WHERE date < currentdate
seems a lot less mem hungry than
SELECT * FROM posts WHERE content LIKE searchstring
which works..

Enlighten me.
Please put [SOLVED] in your topic if you are a moron.
