Evolution 2.10.3 - Complains Account not Enabled [Solved]

  • Quote

Post by mhoskins » Fri Sep 28, 2007 7:53 pm

I recently upgraded to 2.10.3 - I also added and removed the evolution-exchange package in that near time frame. When I removed the exchange package, I also removed the two new packages that were installed as new packages with it. The openldap package has returned when I recompiled evolution and the evolution-data-server.

When I reply to an email, not all the time either - about 20% of the time - I get the following dialog box:

Code: Select all

This message cannot be sent because the account you chose to send with is not enabled

Please enable the account or send using another account.
The account is active. The mail came in during the active session. Without copying and pasting the message into a new mail window, I can not reply to the email. I can not reply, even after a full shutdown and reboot, to the affected mail message. Yet other messages will arrive and allow me to reply with no problem.

Any thoughts would be welcome.

Weird Workaround

I just discovered that I can forward the messages to which I can not reply. It means copying all the recipients, but it is better than cutting and pasting into a new window for me.

Duplicate Email Addresses in Two Mail Accounts

  • Quote

Post by mhoskins » Wed Oct 03, 2007 9:07 pm

I figured this out and it is subtle.

We're going to an exchange environment soon, so I setup a new mail account in preparation for it. That account had the same mail address as the current production email environment. That caused confusion in the software when selected the "from" name. There was apparently an element of randomness to this which added to the confusion on my end.

Once that new exchange environment was deleted, all issues replying wonderfully disappeared.
