enlightenment 17

This forum covers all Gentoo-related software not officially supported by Gentoo. Ebuilds/software posted here might harm the health and stability of your system(s), and are not supported by Gentoo developers. Bugs/errors caused by ebuilds from overlays.gentoo.org are covered by this forum, too.

enlightenment 17

Post by kaviazzz » Thu Aug 23, 2007 2:28 am

im trying to emerge e17 but i'm probably doing something wrong
i followed the instructions on wiki

$ layman -f
$ layman --add enlightenment

then
echo "source /usr/portage/local/layman/make.conf" >> /etc/make.conf
gentoobox ~ # cat /etc/make.conf
# These settings were set by the catalyst build script that automatically
# built this stage.
# Please consult /etc/make.conf.example for a more detailed example.
CFLAGS="-O2 -pipe"
CXXFLAGS="${CFLAGS}"
# This should not be changed unless you know exactly what you are doing. You
# should probably be using a different stage, instead.
CHOST="x86_64-pc-linux-gnu"

GENTOO_MIRRORS="ftp://gentoo.virginmedia.com/sites/gentoo ftp://ftp.mirrorservice.org/sites/www.i ... rg/gentoo/ ftp://mirror.qubenet.net/mirror/gentoo/ "

SYNC="rsync://rsync.europe.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage"
source /usr/portage/local/layman/make.conf
LCD_DEVICES="g15"
USE="lcd"
source /usr/portage/local/layman/make.conf

then i need to add to portage the builds
gentoobox portage # ls -l
total 8
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 80 Aug 9 15:35 bin
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 432 Aug 23 03:14 package.keywords
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 308 Aug 21 07:16 package.use
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 297 Aug 21 07:16 package.use~
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 80 Aug 9 15:35 postsync.d
gentoobox package.keywords # ls -l
total 44
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 308 Aug 11 21:11 beryl
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 17 Aug 20 19:03 g15
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 49 Aug 21 00:13 kde-look
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 48 Aug 21 00:12 kde-look~
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 67 Aug 20 16:52 kdeapps
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 50 Aug 20 16:51 kdeapps~
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Aug 12 20:17 kxdocker
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 27 Aug 11 22:23 kxdocker~
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 72 Aug 10 17:12 package.keywords.livecvs -> /usr/portage/local/layman/enlightenment/scripts/package.keywords.livecvs
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 55 Aug 21 07:00 videoapp
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 22 Aug 21 06:47 videoapp~
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 374 Aug 12 20:18 xgl
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2 Aug 12 20:18 xgl~
is that right ??

then i sync it
$ layman --sync=enlightenment

but when it comes to emerge it
# emerge -pv e
gentoobox package.keywords # emerge -pv e

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies \
emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "e".

gentoobox package.keywords #
i also checked if everything is alright with the cvs file i linked
gentoobox package.keywords # cat /usr/portage/local/layman/enlightenment/scripts
/package.keywords.livecvs
# List all livecvs ebuilds here for the lazy.
#
# Symlink this file into your /etc/portage/package.keywords/ directory:
# mkdir -p /etc/portage/package.keywords
# ln -s \
# /usr/portage/local/layman/enlightenment/scripts/package.keywords.livecvs
\
# /etc/portage/package.keywords/enlightenment
#
# To regen in overlay:
# find -mindepth 2 -maxdepth 2 -type d '!' -wholename '*.svn*' -printf '%P * ~*

Try:

Code: Select all

emerge -va e
- emerging e instead of enlightenment
Have you seen http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_emerge_e17 ???

Ooops, I'm sorry, I didn't noticed that you cited it before.
Anyway, although it can have no meaning, there is a question why you have double source of the same file in make.conf?
Can you post your /usr/portage/local/layman/make.conf ?
I think that the problem is to find why portage can't see e.

Indeed, try this

Code: Select all

PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/portage/local/layman/xeffects /usr/portage/local/layman/enligtenment"

gentoobox ~ # cat /usr/portage/local/layman/make.conf
#PORTDIR_OVERLAY="
#/usr/portage/local/layman/xeffects
#$PORTDIR_OVERLAY
#"

PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/portage/local/layman/xeffects /usr/portage/local/layman/enligtenment"

PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/portage/local/layman/xeffects /usr/portage/local/layman/enligtenment"

but i still get

gentoobox ~ # emerge e
Calculating dependencies /
emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "e".

also tried just in case...

gentoobox ~ # layman --sync=enlightenment
* Running command "/usr/bin/svn update "/usr/portage/local/layman/enlightenment" "...
D /usr/portage/local/layman/enlightenment/x11-wm/e/e-0.16.999.037.ebuild
A /usr/portage/local/layman/enlightenment/x11-wm/e/e-0.16.999.041.ebuild

....
....
..
Updated to revision 122.
*
* Success:
* ------
*
* Successfully synchronized overlay "enlightenment".

/usr/portage/local/layman/make.conf should be automatically maintained really, seem strange. However, you should have...

Code: Select all

# cat /usr/portage/local/layman/make.conf
PORTDIR_OVERLAY="
/usr/portage/local/layman/xeffects
/usr/portage/local/layman/enlightenment
$PORTDIR_OVERLAY
"
..if you want xeffects and E17. but check that your /etc/make.conf has..

Code: Select all

# Layman make.conf
source /usr/portage/local/layman/make.conf
..then it should be fine :)

Cheers,
