Hi,
what should I do in order to force screenlets to be considered widgets? I've added "screenletsd.py" in the Widget Windows property of the Widget Layer plugin (as read somewhere on the net), but it does not work.. Widgets do not appear on the widget layer.... :-/

Yes, it is active... I can see the "widget layer" by pressing SHIFT+F9... but the screenlets are not within that layer
Maybe I should specify something else in the "Widget Windows" field of the widget plugin??

BUMP!
No suggestions? Anyone using screenlets + compiz widget plugin here?

Thanks for the bump -- i missed this one when it first came through...
I currently use all of the above, and in RE to screenlets, you have to go to the widget plugin and manually tell it that screenletsd is supposed to be a widget (and then when you right-click the screenlet it will automatically go to the correct layer)
Thanks... but how did you tell the widget plugin to consider screenletsd (and so, all the screenlets) a widget? I've tried both "screenletsd" and "screenletsd.py" in the "Widget Windows" configuration parameter of compiz-fusion (0.5.2) widget plugin, but it still does not work :-/
I've also right-clicked onto my widgets and in the Window menu item I chosed "Widget"... it does not work for me... I'm surely missing something..

Ok,
I've read in this old thread that screenlets are UTILITY windows, so I've put UTILITY within the Widget Windows and now the screenlets moved onto the widget layer.. this can be the solution for my problem, if no other important applications that I'm using have UTILITY as window class..

My solution does not work, since also the application switcher is put onto the widget layer.
