Access violation while emerging antlr [SOLVED]

Post by dkostic » Sun Jul 22, 2007 7:27 pm

I'm doing a reinstall on my desktop machine and I'm trying to put in gnome and all the packages that go with it. While trying to emerge antlr, I get the following error. Any help is appreciated!
7.7/lib/cpp/src'
install C++ core files ..
install /var/tmp/portage/dev-java/antlr-2.7.7/work/antlr-2.7.7/lib/cpp/src/libantlr.a

GENTOO_VM=sun-jdk-1.5 CLASSPATH="" JAVA_HOME="/opt/sun-jdk-1.5.0.11"
JAVACFLAGS="-source 1.3 -target 1.3" COMPILER=""
and of course, the output of emerge --info

It looks like that /usr/lib64/libantlr.a file doesn't exist. :?

I'm not sure if this is related to either of these other recent antlr emerge errors...

(I don't have fastjar installed so the first doesn't really apply.)

Here's my emerge info...

it seems that it's a sandbox issue...
i think there's still a bug at bugzilla...

there are some workarounds...
try typing:
FEATURES="-sandbox" emerge foo

Good idea, but that doesn't seem to be it. I did what you suggested, got the same error, then tried removing "sandbox" from the FEATURES in make.conf, and got the same error again. I think the problem is that something is trying to access a nonexistant file ( /usr/lib64/libantlr.a ). Any other ideas? (I really appreciate the help though! 8) )

Fixed it. I removed "sandbox" from FEATURES in make.conf, deleted /var/tmp/portage/dev-java/antlr-2.7.7 and re-emerged antlr and it went through fine. Go figure. :?

well...maybe it's not a good idea to remove sandbox glboally...
it's better to remove it only for the problematic package...

btw,the bug with sandbox affects a lot of packages,but i think there's no "official" solution yet... :/

Yeah, I re-added sandbox to make.conf after antlr emerged.
