madwifi-ng repeatedly reconnects to AP

This is a fairly recent problem I've been having. My wireless interface (ath0) running with latest drivers (madwifi-ng-0.9.3-r3) will sometimes disconnect from my AP, connect, then start a connect/disconnect cycle for a few minutes until stabilizing. Here's some output from syslog-ng:

I'm using dnsmasq as a local DNS cache, not to provide any DHCP leases to other computers. I'm not sure what the error about "wifi0: unknown hardware address type 801" is for, but I'll do some searches in the meantime.
