You can just download and install manually:

cd ~
wget http://dl.google.com/earth/GE4/GoogleEarthLinux.bin
chmod +x GoogleEarthLinux.bin
./GoogleEarthLinux.bin
Tell it to install in your ~/bin/google-earth directory. Then run it:

~/bin/google-earth/googlearth
