glibc-2.5-r2 broken printf?

Hi I appear to be suffering from this bug here:

As are a couple of ther people using similar setups.

I'm totally in trouble, I can't downgrade my glibc and theres no version in testing I can use instead, anyone know of a way around this, urgently if possible!

p.s. how did this get thru from the testing branch? printf is a pretty common function!

Ulrich Drepper has already patched glibc's cvs trunk and if you're desperate (and brave

) you could
always apply it for yourself in your portage overlay.

the patch worked for me, doesn't seem to have broken anything else.
