Beryl freezes

  • Quote

Post by tontudelbot » Tue Mar 20, 2007 6:35 pm

Hi! I updated my Xorg and now Beryl doesn't start and makes my computer freeze... although Beryl's output says Passed all and any other 3D application works fine. I'm using 0.2.0 version (I first tried 0.2.1). Anybody else have the same problem? Here I found this topic and i replied to it. He says it's fixed but my didn't...
Any help? Thanks in advance.

EDIT: "Solved" I made something wrong in my bios last day... But now Beryl doesn't start if I uncomment some options in xorg.conf. And rotating the cube is very slow...

I'm using/trying latest versions from svn. But then the mouse driver does not work. The Xserver crashes with xf86... handler error. (see log file: http://pastebin.ca/404407) So I think we need a svn ebuild for the mouse driver. Could anyone provide such an ebuild?

/edit: I created such an ebuild, but now I have the error from the log above: http://pastebin.ca/404407.

Any help appreciated, I need my mouse! 8)

xorg-server-1.2.99.999 emerged failed today. I can't quite attach the log because I am forced to use lynx right now, but here's the what I get what I do "make" in the work directory:

Code: Select all

No rule to make target 's_arbshader.lo', needed by 'libswrast.la'. Stop
this is in GL/mesa/swrast.

I zinc I know what the problem might be. Could you please run:

LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose glxinfo

and post the complete output?

I have strange problems: Opengl applications doesn't work very well: Beryl's transparency on windows doesn't make transparency but windows goes with diferents colors (yellow, red, green, black) :?
some screenshots:

foobillar (no textures, no reflections)
I have this problem about one week and there isn't new updates in git about this...

The same packages as you.
glxgears works ok ;)
IMHO, glxgears doesn't have textures nor lights, is so simple to see any error. But any other gl application shows buggy too so isn't Beryl.

I don't know where to look for the error. I didn't find any bug in xorg bugs (i don't know so much so maybe i skipped it...)

And me.

A "no rule" error would imply an upstream Makefile.in problem. Bugzilla and Google searches don't seem to turn anything up - what chance this is a Gentoo specific problem?
With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine (RFC 1925, apparently talking about Gentoo)

This should be fixed now. Grab the latest tarball or re-sync and try compiling it again.

I've asked this some time ago, but got no answer at all.

I've installed ati open drivers all ok.
Does anyone know why glx apps don't fit into beryl wm when moving windows, i.e. glxgears ?
Is there any environment variable that I should set ?

Thanks in advance. ;)

Note: The fix is in Primozic's overlay, and not in the codebase, so you need to re-sync your overlay to get the fix.

Hello all,

I do not succeed to compile xorg-server-1.3.99.999.
I post here the error :

Do you have the same problem ?

I installed 1.3.99.999 a few days ago and it worked... you'll have to wait until they've fixed it in the svn/cvs...
