[Solved] Genkernel error

  • Quote

Post by Interimo » Thu Mar 01, 2007 9:37 pm

I'm in the middle of an install right now, and when I typed "genkernel all" I get a message about how there is no "/usr/src/linux" and genkernel doesn't work. How do I fix this?

Thanks guys!

You have to get the kernel sources into /usr/src/linux-ver. This is done by emerging the appropriate kernel sources e.g.

Code: Select all

emerge gentoo-sources
for a list of available linux-sources see

Code: Select all

ls /usr/portage/sys-kernel

I'm emerging gentoo-sources right now. Do I run genkernel all after it's downloading?

I never played with genkernel. The handbook tells you what to do there. :)
