evolution-data-server needs libgnutls.so.12 [SOLVED]

Hello all,

evolution-data-server fails with the following:

/usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.4.6/../../../../i686-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld: warning: libgnutls.so.12, needed by /usr/lib/libsoup-2.2.so, not found (try using -rpath or -rpath-link)

This site hits that problem head on with this statement:

'The package that provides the "libgnutls" library is "net-libs/gnutls", but the most recent one ("net-libs/gnutls-1.4.4-r1") includes "libgnutls.so.13", not "libgnutls.so.12".'

I try to downgrade libgnutls, but there is none available. My ultimate goal was to upgrade to Gnome 2.16, but now I just want to fix my system, GDM and gnome are broken. Thanks for any help!

Have you tried using revdep-rebuild?

I'd run revdep-rebuild to make sure nothing else is dependent on the old library? I know I have problems with wmbiff in particular when gnutls updates.

An upgrade to the latest version of libsoup allowed evolution-data-server to compile completely.
