Hard drive partitions unmounting by it self

New system 2006.1. Everything working fine. All drives mounted on boot, no errors. After a while several of my partition mounts disappear. The dev entries all all there and I can remount them with the mount command without a problem. It's like something just unmounted them. "/" is ok, "/usr/portage" gets unmounted and "/mnt/hdd1" gets unmounted. So it's not just a specific hard drive, it all of them.

/etc/fstab

Code: Select all

/dev/hda1 /boot ext3 noatime 0 2
/dev/hda2 / ext3 noatime 0 1
/dev/hda5 /usr/portage ext3 noatime 0 2
/dev/hda6 /var ext3 noatime 0 2
/dev/hda7 none swap sw 0 0

/dev/hdc1 /mnt/hdc1 reiserfs noatime 0 2
/dev/hdd1 /mnt/hdd1 reiserfs noatime 0 2

#none /dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
shm /dev/shm tmpfs nodev,nosuid,noexec 0 0
Nothing in dmesg and /var/log/messages about unmounting partitions. Anyone seen this before?

Do you have smartmontools? Does smartctl say anything about them?

My first question is which kernel are you running?

I had a similar situation last fall and a minor kernel update resolved it for me.

Tried a different kernel, linux-2.6.13.17 does the same thing. So it's not kernel specific.
