beryl & deskbar applet

Hey folks,

just installed beryl without having any problems.. i was so glad until i stumbled on this: i cannot use deskbar applet anymore. it is loosing focus right after getting it (same behavior when clicking and when hitting alt f3) when i switch back to metacity, it works without any problems so i guess the problem is beryl related.. i did not found anything about that on google nor here, but i can't believe that i am the only one observing this issue?

i already played around with all settings but i just cant get behind it.

any ideas?

cheers

i'm also noticing that it's losing focus, but i'm having another problem.

Deskbar is SUPER slow and uses LOTS of CPU. Even when I switch back to Metacity :(

I'm using 2.16.2 for Gnome.
< bmg505> I think the first line in reiserfsck is

if (random(65535)< 65500) { hose(partition); for (i=0;i<100000000;i++) print_crap(); }

Go to the beryl settings manager... under general options, set "Level of Focus Stealing Prevention" to "None" and that fixes it. I think it's related to the fact that as soon as you type a letter, deskbar pops up a new window for autocomplete, and new windows normally get focus... but deskbar tries to take it back so you can continue typing, and the "prevention" setting stops that. I'm betting it's a really tiny tweak to either the beryl or deskbar code, but sadly, I don't know enough of their coding to do anything about it.
