But it can't synchronize a directory on my machine with an ftp site, or does it?

If not: does somebody know an ftp client which supports directory synchronization?

Not that I know. I think krusader (a 2-panel file manager) has any kind of synchonization feature, but have no experience using it, so I can't be sure how good or bad it is.

Konqueror is acting up for me over here.

I can login to an ftp site just fine, but immediately the URI in the address bar gets shortened.

for example:

Code: Select all

ftp://www.web-site.de/
after logging in, this is what gets put into the address bar:

Code: Select all

ftp://www.we...te.de/
Navigating is fine, but when I try to download something, the shortened address gets put into the username field (non-editable) and the password authentication fails.

Can I prevent konqueror from doing this?

EDIT: Apparently, a function called "prettyURL" is responsible and the bug seems to be present in v 3.5.8 as well. Seems that the result of prettyURL is not back-parseable, whereas it should be.

EDIT2: Bug is considered fixed by reverting the offending code in bugs.kde.org. Filed a new bug: [bug=200175]#200175[/bug]

Use sane CFLAGS! If for no other reason, do it for the lulz!
