How to start Latex macro package ConTeXt with texexec

I want to use the latex macro package ConTeXt
<http://wiki.contextgarden.net/>

I've installed context with
"for p in `mpm --list|grep context | tr -s [:space:] | cut -d ' ' -f 4`; do mpm --install=$p; done"
and I've upgraded to the latest tetex-3.0_p1-r3

I've also followed the guide:
http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Linux_Ins ... ntoo_Linux

and modified /etc/texmf/fmtutil.d/00fmtutil.cnf
by adding a '*' where indicated in the above referenced wiki.
followed by texmf-update.

BUT:
$ texexec --version

TeXExec 5.4.3 - ConTeXt / PRAGMA ADE 1997-2005

texexec : TeXExec 5.4.3 - ConTeXt / PRAGMA ADE 1997-2005
texutil : TeXUtil 9.0.1 - ConTeXt / PRAGMA ADE 1992-2006
pdfetex: unrecognized option `--alias=context'
pdfetex: unrecognized option `--undump=cont-en'
kpathsea: Running mktexfmt context.fmt
fmtutil: no info for format `context'.

kpathsea: Running mktexfmt context.fmt
fmtutil: no info for format `context'.
cont-nl : unknown

total run time : 5 seconds

warning : use 'texmfstart texexec' instead

And if I try to process some contex file:
$ cat >test.tex <<EOF
> \starttext
> Hello World
> \stopttext
> EOF
$ texexec test.tex

TeXExec 5.4.3 - ConTeXt / PRAGMA ADE 1997-2005

This is pdfeTeX, Version 3.141592-1.30.5-2.2 (Web2C 7.5.5)
(/usr/local/share/texmf/web2c/natural.tcx)
kpathsea: Running mktexfmt context.fmt

I can't find the format file `context.fmt'!

return code : 256

Are their any Gentoo users using ConTeXt?
What do must I do to create ConTeXt documents?

Sorry, found this post by sheer coincidence and much too late. Let me know if you still need help; I've been using ConTeXt on gentoo for two years now. Btw, ConTeXt is an alternative to LaTeX, not a macro package for LaTeX.

Yes, I did get ConTeXt working on Gentoo (both x86 and amd64)

after posting to the NTG user list:

I started a thread: http://www.ntg.nl/pipermail/ntg-context ... 21663.html
and finally resolved it: http://www.ntg.nl/pipermail/ntg-context ... 21693.html

In case any other Gentoo users run into problems:
1) don't install ConTeXt using mpm (MikTeX Package Manager) which apparently installs a context
with a Windows setup. Instead, download the current version http://www.pragma-ade.nl/context/current/cont-tmf.zip
and unpack in /usr/local/share/texmf/

2) Regenerate:cont-en.fmt and make verify with kpsewhere that there are no stale versions of cont-en.fmt around:
#texexec --make en metafun
#http:for f in `kpsewhere -engine=pdfetex cont-en.fmt`; do ls -l ${f}; done

3)If you use mpm, remember to exclude context when installing new packages:
# for f in $(mpm --list|grep -v '^i' | grep -v "context" | tr -s [:space:] | cut -d ' ' -f 4); do mpm --install=$f; done
