is the 2006.0 package.iso usable on a 2006.1 install?

I'm new to Gentoo, and I have not been able to find an answer to my question, so here I am.

As far as I can tell, the packages are not being offered with 2006.1 except in the liveDVD. I have no access to bit torrents, so the LiveDVD does not seem to be an option. I then have the choice of using 2006.1 install/universal ISO's and the 2006.0 package ISO, or the 2006.0 universal/install ISO with the 2006.0 package ISO. Do the changes in the 2006.1 version really matter?

The 3rd possibility is that I'm just outright mistaken, and I won't need the package ISO ...

Package CD is not necessary. I have never used it.

Not many people use package CDs afaik, even if you do use the 2006.0 Install CD + the 2006.0 Package CD, it's simple to upgrade: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gentoo-upgrading.xml
