blurry KDE :/

  • Quote

Post by Slynix » Sun Jun 15, 2003 3:31 pm

I just installed KDE etc on my vacation place, however the screen is a bit blurry and my eyes arent at all pleased with this output of the screen. From distance its all ok. A close look on small text will however show that the configuration isnt correct.

Any tips on which settings I could play around with next time I go back to my vacation place?

My Gentoo desktop here is totally ok. But with a rather simular at my vacation place it doesnt show as nice. Fluxbox here and kde at vacation place thought that shouldnt matter..

I will post more info on my configurations later on when im at vacation place again if I dont solve it. If I solve it Ill post a bit on how I solved it

gtg cyas!

Are you sure that it isn't just your screen that is blurry? Not KDE? :)

Check your refresh rate! At least 75Hz required to look good (at least for my LCD monitor).

Also, are we talking about all of KDE (window frames, background, buttons,etc...)? Or is it just the fonts?

Almost sure it's refresh rate. Windows uses high rate by default, but in X you have...ehhmm 60Hz by default I think. So, chech your /etc/X11/XF86Config !
