Just wondering about a few things

Ive been learning java now for about a year and i would like to try it in gentoo i was really wondering what compiler do you guys use
or what would be the best one to use.

Do you have criteria (architecture, importance of speed, special features, pedantic/flexible, etc.)?

Have you tried using whichever compiler you had previously learned to use?

yeah the one i learned in is for windows and i cant even find it on the internet so i figured y not try a new one

What did you use on Windows? The most common compilers are the Sun JavaJDK javac, eclipse, and jikes--all of which are on Linux too.

i used some codewarrior IDE something i really dont remeber.
it was nice but there was a little more work for more complex programs

and i know i cant find it for gentoo.

but i might try one of the ones karnesky suggested
