[solved] Can't run cpufreqd

Post by breiko » Fri Oct 13, 2006 11:29 am

After a system update I can't add cpufreqd at boot.

Code: Select all

localhost breiko # rc-update add cpufreqd default
 * rc-update: '/etc/init.d/cpufreqd' not found; aborting
:(

Well don't know what you did during your system update, i guess the easiest would be to re-emerge the thing. If this solves your problem please mark your original topic with [SOLVED]

to make cpu frequenzy scalling working do this:

1) Setup your kernel and your cpu (/usr/src/linux --> make menuconfig)
2) Build up your kernel
3) emerge cpufrequtils
4) modprobe speedstep-centrino
5) modprobe cpufreq_ondemand
6) /etc/init.d/cpufrequtils start

You can put the speedstep-centrino and cpufreq_ondemand into /dev/modules.autoload/kernel

rc-update add cpufrequtils default

This should work
