"emerge mplayerplug-in" with the nsplugin useflag enabled. Don't know about Opera.

Yes I have followed your instruction as you said but yet it is not working. Bothe the mpg and wmv files are not executing. I have uninstalled the previous installation of mozilla because I thought maybe this is the cause of the problem. And I am now running the mozilla-firefox-bin. And yet it is not working.
Please can you tell me if there is anything else I am doing wrong ?
Thanks in Advanced .

Check Edit > Preferences > Downloads > View & Edit Actions in Firefox.
Is the "win32codecs" useflag enabled?

The useflag is no longer 'win32codecs' but 'wmp'. That worked for me.
