Getting power button working for shutdown [Not Solved]

Hi,
I did read the ACPI HOWTO and also dide a search on the forums but couldn't find what I look for (or maybe I skipped something)
Anyway, my issue is extremely simple. I want to be able to shut down my computer with the press of the case power button. Right now it does nothing when I press it.
I have ACPI stuff compiled in kernel, and emerged acpid.
Will this be actieved by using some scripts? The HOWTO had some stuff like this, but I couldn't exactly get it.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

just to be sure you've done everything right

: is the CONFIG_ACPI_BUTTON option enabled in your kernel configuration (either builtin or as a module)?

I suggest you try a livecd and see if this is not a hw related issue.
Do you get any error message at boot? See what dmesg says about acpi and report any error.
Acpid needs no configuration at all, so... if this is not a well known bug, I think your problem depends on your kernel configuration. Look in the bugtracking system.
Ah... is apm loaded too? If this is the case, disable it in kernel configuration, re-make, re-install...
