Hello, I know there are several similar threads already, but none seems to be my problem.
I was a very happy user of Xorg 7.1 (nv and nvidia both working ok, minor problems with nvidia though), KDE 3.5.3, GTK+ 2.8.20, and gtk-engines-qt 0.7. Then KDE 3.5.4 came out, and I decided to upgrade. To avoid compiling more than necessary, I also swtiched on (globally) the "kdehiddeninvisibility" and "xinerama" flags, the latter of which caused many more things to recompile, including GTK+, gtk-engines-qt and icewm.
After this upgrade, GTK applications in KDE will not render text correctly. The text is very aliased, and often disappears randomly. Hovering over text with the mouse will randomly cause it to reappear and/or disappear again. This happens with native GTK apps like gaim, Java apps like Azureus, and also with Firefox. All QT apps are fine though. GTK apps still have QT widgets, because of gtk-engines-qt.
Finally, the problem only happens in KDE. Running GTK apps in icewm is fine - they have a beautiful KDE look. The issue happens with both nv and nvidia drivers, so it has nothing to do with the 7.1 ABI stuff.
Any ideas to solve the problem are welcome! Thanks.
