Hey,

Hope anyone can help me with these probs...

Code: Select all

root@indo20-desktop:/home/indo20/cvs/misc/engage# evidence --theme=rephormed
0 evidence.c::main: LC_CTYPE is not set, falling back to "LC_CTYPE=de_DE"...

(evidence:12102): Gtk-WARNING **: Locale not supported by C library.
        Using the fallback 'C' locale.

(evidence:12102): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display:
root@indo20-desktop:/home/indo20/cvs/misc/engage# evidence e
0 evidence.c::main: LC_CTYPE is not set, falling back to "LC_CTYPE=de_DE"...

(evidence:12105): Gtk-WARNING **: Locale not supported by C library.
        Using the fallback 'C' locale.

(evidence:12105): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display:

and

Code: Select all

root@indo20-desktop:/home/indo20/cvs/misc/engage# cd ~.e/e/applications/
-bash: cd: ~.e/e/applications/: No such file or directory

I compiled all the apps and after i noticed i forgot to compile "e"
Hopefully that doesn't affect anything else as i would rather not recompile everything ^^.
I did compile "e" after i noticed it wasn't there though.

Thanks,

Thanks,
if you plan on using the module engage ( still being developed ) you will need to rebuild engage. if you plan on using the old standalone engage ( dead ) you will be fine.

~/.e/e/applications/ is created when you run e the first time or as apps need to create the goodness within
also i suggest not running X as root

Thanks! Will rebuild it.
Few more questions:

when i tried to ./autogen.sh e_modules it said there was no such file or directory (also checked and nothing in there), how do i install it then ? Downloaded everything from the webside.

Is it possible to let kde-enlightenment or kde / e / gnome run all together ?
Was reading something about it somewhere but couldn't find it anymore.

What other programs people use to create those very nice backgrounds /themes ? (especially intrested in making backgrounds)

Thanks again ^^

EDIT: still can't get evidence to work

Code: Select all

indo20@indo20-desktop:/home/indo20/.e/e/applications/engage# enlightenment_remote -module-load engage
ERROR: Enlightenment_remote cannot set up the IPC socket.
Maybe try the '-display :0.0' option?

Looks like another problem lol

EDIT: still can't get evidence to work

emerge e_modules

i suppose you could run e inside kde or gnome if you realy wanted to

look at the user guide at get-e.org for information on edje_<decc/cc> also take a look at http://enlightenment.sourceforge.net/docs/edjebook.html

try running enlightenment_remote as the user that started e
