I´d love to make you guys some icons, if you could hand over some material. Post some source stuff! Mostly I fail to find a default icon for your pragrams or something to make a icon from.

Is there anyway to get the windows icon while in gentoo, they usually just show up as blank files. If not, next time I boot into windows (yuck) Ill grab a D2 icon.

It is. I tried fbdesk once, but idesk shows up much nicer. just emerge idesk. man idesk shows how to set up a rc file and to implement icons to the desktop. Like I said fluxbox with idesk is my choice.

idesk:s doesn't have a man page

and the web pages shows blank screen

every icon is located in a folder called: ~/.idesktop and looks like this:

Okey I have done the .ideskrc file and the .idesktop folder where i have done evolution.lnk file
like this:

I placed the icons to /usr/share/pixmaps/GentooIcons/l

what should i do now?

Just start idesk at the commandline. Maybe you'd like to put idesk & to your xstartup script if everything is fine. By the way: the docs are most likely at /usr/doc/idesk-0.3.5-r1/

Just noticed that these icons don't work very well in fluxbox...not for me don't know why

Here is my first attempt at making a svg image that represents the crystal ball look:

Svg file is available here: http://www.timmfin.net/images/mist_icon_base4.svg. The svg was rendered in nautilus using the latest portage version of librsvg (2.2.5). It will render the same way in any other librscg app, like idesk (personal plug here)

. I know its still quite different, but getting the same blurred look will be quite difficult (especially if you want it to scale well).
