XFCE4.4 - startup problem [solved]

Hi guys and girlz,

Thanks for the help on the previous problem. The compilation of xfce4.4 beta2 worked. Now I have the following error message when trying to startxfce4:

"Xfce4-session error while loading shared libraries libxfce4mcs-client-so.2; cannot open shared
object file no such file or directory"

Is this a known problem?

Hi,

it looks like libxfce4mcs isn't installed on your system.
Try to (re)emerge it (the version number should be 4.3.90.2).

Hi there,

Fixed it! Problem was that I had xfce 4.2 still scattered around on the system, and I didn't emerge enough packages as well.

Ah well, beta-testing eh.
