Emerge of gedit-2.14.3 failed -- RESOLVED

For those of you who don't look at all the messages when emerging, after installing python you may have missed the message that says you should
/usr/sbin/python-updater
I discovered this have seeing that an emerge of gedit-2.14.3 failed and it seemed python was the culprit. This time when emerging python I looked at the messages, and after doing the above, gedit installed with no problem.

I've been having the same issue. Found this on bugzilla:
support for:
gnome-2.14.0
gedit-2.14.0

will be dropped unless the packages:
['>=dev-python/gnome-python-desktop-2.13.3']

are keyworded on your architecture.
Adding gnome-python-desktop to my package.keywords and emerging it seems to have resolved the issue with the gedit update.

Yeah, me too.

I tried using usr/sbin/python-updater but it just told me that i was crazy (nothing to update). Then I simply removed python from my use flag for gedit - same error.

In the end, what I had to do was re-emerge gnome-python-desktop, after THAT gedit emerged. (whew!) 8O

Ha, that did the trick for me too. Thanks!

I thought I re-emerged gnome-python-desktop yesterday, but apparently not :?
