problems with e1000

Hello

I have a Intel Deskpro Gigabit networkcard and a netgear switch for 10/100/1000 mbit.

But the nic seems to lose always connection. Sometimes I have all 10seconds this error in log/messages:

e1000: eth0: e1000_watchdog: NIC Link is Down
e1000: eth0: e1000_watchdog: NIC Link is UP 100 Mbps Full Duplex

Do you know how I can stabilize the connection?

For the case windows is installed, do you experience the same problem with windows? Have you tried another cable (switch) already?

I am having also big issues with intel e1000 PT (pci-e bus).
It is only recognized by intel driver, but can't work on my setup (nforce6100 board): nothing pass through the board, the packet are either dropped or not sent.
It card itself is ok on windows.

You should try with intel epro1000 driver, it is more recent that the kernel one.

no, it was no hardware problem. I was able to solve it with the newest kernel. in the older ones, there was a Bug with TSO...
