I downloaded the source for that version of taskjuggler and tried to make sense of the Makefiles. I wonder if you need to set your timezone for this to compile...

Code: Select all

Processing file '/var/tmp/portage/taskjuggler-2.2.0/work/taskjuggler-2.2.0/Examples/FirstProject/AccountingSoftware.tjp'
')' expected
~((istaskstatus(plan, inprogresslate) | (istaskstatus(plan, inprogress))) &endsafter(plan,2002-03-05-13:00:00-Local time
')' expected
~((istaskstatus(plan, inprogresslate) | (istaskstatus(plan, inprogress))) &endsafter(plan,2002-03-05-13:00:00-Local time zone
')' expected
~(startsafter(plan, 2002-03-05-13:00:00-Local time
It looks like the build process is trying to use the date utility to convert a textual date into a system date. At that point I suspect that the absence of a timezone is throwing it off.

When you go to a terminal and type date, what do you see? Do you see "Local time zone not set" messages? Try setting your timezone by copying the appropriate file in /usr/share/zoneinfo to /etc/localtime. The messages about "Local time zone not set" should go away. Try re-emerging.

bugzilla is your friend

Glad that worked. You know... the proper thing to do now is to file a bug report with the ebuild maintainer... maybe they need to add a warning when the TZ is not set or something...
