I have a problem with compiling some commercial software gaussian 2003. Its written in fortran and for compiling i am using portland group compiler. But it suddenly ends with error:
/usr/bin/ld: /crtbeginS.o: No such file: No such file or directory
I know that it worked on another gentoo system, so my question is what is the problem. The file crtbeginS.o is in /usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.4.5/
Thanks for any advance.

Hi,

I installed G03 Rev C.02 just two weeks before on a Gentoo AMD64 system. My problem was the file /bsd/cachsize, which should only output one number (obviously the cachsize). I do not know, if this corresponds with your problem, but I had to change in this file the word "cache" to "cache size".

Otherwise I followed the installation instructions word for word.
Just some stupid questions:
- You are working in a C-shell?
- You set all path's ($PGI, $g03root, etc) correct?
- Fortran compiler is working in C-shell (to test this see the installation instructions of the compiler)?

Sorry, if these questions sound stupid to you, but these were some points were I had problems.

Regards,
Marc
